SUMMARY:

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a senior officer responsible for shaping and driving the overall technology vision for Little Creek Casino Resort. The CTO leads the strategic design and execution of enterprise-wide technology initiatives that align with the business's long-term goals. This role oversees technology infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and digital transformation across all areas of gaming and hospitality. In collaboration with fellow officers, and department directors, the CTO ensures technology solutions enhance guest experience, streamline operations, and meet regulatory standards, and drive innovation to differentiate the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute the company's enterprise-wide technology strategy and digital transformation roadmap, including innovation initiatives, cross-departmental projects, and alignment with key business objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize emerging technologies, competitor innovations, and industry trends; recommend and implement strategies that enhance guest experiences, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.
  • Create and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap that guides enterprise initiatives, investment planning, and strategic resource allocation.
  • Oversee a portfolio of innovation projects, pilots, and proof-of-concepts to ensure alignment with strategic goals and scalability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the technology team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and high performance.
  • Establish and manage the technology budget; ensure optimal use of funds and alignment with ROI and enterprise priorities.
  • Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise systems, including CMS (casino management systems), property management systems, guest-facing technologies, and mobile/digital applications.
  • Collaborate with fellow officers and department heads to identify technology-driven opportunities and ensure alignment with business model evolution.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain technology policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry's best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of the company's technology infrastructure, systems, and networks.
  • Develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures and protocols to protect company data, systems, and guest information.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners.
  • Oversee data management, governance, and analytics initiatives.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making by ensuring business intelligence tools and reporting systems deliver meaningful insights across departments.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to drive innovation and improve product offerings.
  • Implement and oversee agile development processes and project management methodologies.
  • Communicate technology strategy and initiatives to executive leadership, the board of directors, tribal leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance and cross-functional support to empower departments and drive organizational efficiency.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant gaming regulations and oversee internal control procedures related to technology operations.
  • Collaborate with Tribal IT and third-party partners to ensure alignment with the broader Squaxin Island Tribe's technology infrastructure and cybersecurity goals.
  • Lead crisis response for technology incidents, ensuring business continuity and risk mitigation strategies are in place and tested.
  • Establish IT governance practices, including change management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance monitoring.
  • Promote a learning culture and implement workforce planning to support succession and critical skill development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize team member engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within the department and delivers constructive feedback to employees regarding performance.
  • Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Responsible for team member performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).

TRIBAL - STATE COMPACT & ACCOUNTING & INTERNAL CONTROL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for Internal Control and Compact compliance regarding Casino Operations and ensure compliance with regulations of the Tribal Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
